Fine Mapping and Candidate Gene Analysis of the Gv1 Locus Controlling Green-Peel Color in Eggplant (Solanum melongena L.)

Peel color is one of the most important appearance qualities eggplant. The main pigment in peel green-fruited eggplant chlorophyll, while white-fruited a mutant chlorophyll biosynthesis. A dominant gene Gv controls biosynthesis peel, but none its genes have been mapped. In this study, white-peel inbred line 19141, green-peel 19143, and their F2 progeny with 3:1 segregation ratio plants to plants, were used map Gv1 locus by whole genome re-sequencing combined bulked segregant analysis (BSA). was mapped region spanning 7.66 Mb on chromosome 8, which narrowed down 173.2 kb interval screening recombinant InDel SNP markers.
